Make a BLEACH Pre-quel Manga!

Hi folks,

I'm looking to put together a creative team to make a Bleach pre-quel manga. Instead of your typical pocket sized manga though, i want to make it in regular standard American format much like the Witchblade manga was. but with the typical manga style. And i'd want an Udon SF cell shading style of coloring not the same kind as was used in the Witchblade manga.

Idea:
Follows the period of Ichigo's grandfather. (more details later)

Decided to change this to hit closer to home. I want to explore a fictional setting where we explore Ichigo's father's past. We know from a few places in the anime that his father is very strong but hides it and rarely get's involved in current day matters. I was thinking of a storyline that takes place when Ichigo's father was a young Shinigami and tells the story about how he and Ichigo's mother (an Espada) fell in love and were outcast by both Soul Society and Las Noches and hunted down ultimately leading to Ichigo's mother's death, and his father hiding out in the human realm. I think it would draw some interesting parallels with Ichigo's monsterous latent powers and ability to do Bankai and Vizard so easily and quickly. BUT i haven't read the manga so i don't know if these have already been answer....

Besides the fact that I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't read Bleach, I've also got a personal comic/manga project I want to get started on.

I'm helping out on a couple of comics as a colourist already, so I don't know if I'd have the time... depends what the turnaround is. Anyhoo, sounds like a really fun project, hope you find a groovy gang soon

Yeah, i'm looking for an artist first - i'll worry about colors later. It's probably not going to happen. Most of the good manga-style artists are doing stuff of their own or for profit. Can't blame them in this economy. I gotta pay my bills too and i'm trying to work on my coloring again.

Guess we'll leave it on the table and see for now.
